of <h1>Clarification on Excise Duty for Irregular Marble Slabs in March 1992: Original Measurement Formula Restored by Notification No. 56/92-C.E.</h1> The Central Board of Excise & Customs issued a clarification regarding the dutiability of irregularly shaped marble slabs for the period from March 1, 1992, to March 30, 1992. Initially, Notification No. 16/90-C.E. established a formula for measuring these slabs, which was later deleted by Notification No. 7/92-C.E. on March 1, 1992. However, Notification No. 56/92-C.E. dated March 31, 1992, restored the original formula. The Board decided that the measurement practice before March 1, 1992, should apply during the specified period for determining excise duty.
