of <h1>Infrared Thermometer Imports Get Temporary Relaxation Under Legal Metrology Act Amid COVID-19; Compliance Due in Three Months.</h1> The public notice allows importers to clear consignments of infrared thermometers amid the COVID-19 pandemic with relaxed procedures under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009. Importers must comply with the Act and related rules within three months of clearance. An undertaking on the importer's letterhead is required, which must be replaced by a proper bond by May 7, 2020. The Customs office will maintain records of these undertakings. Trade associations and customs brokers are urged to disseminate this information, and any difficulties should be reported to the Customs Commissioner in Mumbai.
