of <h1>Customs Waives Late Fees for Import Documents Due to COVID-19 Delays, Effective March 20, 2020, Until Further Notice.</h1> The Principal Commissioner of Customs at Visakhapatnam issued Public Notice No. 21/2020 on March 26, 2020, addressing importers, exporters, and stakeholders about waiving late fees for filing Bills of Entry due to delays caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. The notice acknowledges difficulties in obtaining necessary documents and accessing filing facilities, leading to potential late submissions. Consequently, for import consignments related to Import General Manifests (IGMs) filed on or after March 20, 2020, late fees will be waived until further notice. Officers and staff are instructed to treat this decision as a standing order, with issues directed to the appropriate customs officials.
