Delhi Customs Issues Guidelines for SEZ Goods Clearance During Lockdown; Scanned Documents Accepted, Hard Copies Required Later.
The Principal Commissioner of Customs at the Air Cargo Complex in Delhi has issued guidelines for the clearance of goods to Special Economic Zones (SEZs) during the lockdown. Importers and Customs Brokers can submit scanned copies of the duplicate and quadruplicate Bills of Entry via email for Out of Charge (OOC) clearance. Hard copies must be submitted within 15 days post-lockdown. The Deputy Commissioner will maintain records to ensure scanned documents match the hard copies within 21 days after the lockdown ends. The notice urges trade associations to inform their members and addresses any difficulties to the Additional Commissioner of Customs.
