<h1>India Launches Automated Customs Clearance Nationwide from March 5, 2020; Streamlines Trade and EDI Operations.</h1> The Government of India has announced the implementation of automated clearance for customs across India, effective from March 5, 2020. Initially piloted at Chennai Custom House and Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House, the system will now be extended to all locations with operational Customs EDI systems. The automated clearance will be available at ICES locations with a fully functional RMS, and Customs Compliance Verification (CCV) will be conducted by designated officers. Upon payment confirmation, the system will electronically clear the Bill of Entry. Any issues should be reported to the relevant authorities in Chennai VII Commissionerate.
