of <h1>Online System for DFIA Transmission Launched to Streamline Customs and DGFT Communication Starting October 13, 2011.</h1> The circular announces the implementation of an online system for the transmission of Duty Free Import Authorization (DFIA) between Customs and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) effective from October 13, 2011. This system will streamline the process for exporters and importers by allowing electronic communication of Shipping Bills and DFIA details. Exporters must provide DFIA details in the revised format when filing Shipping Bills, while importers must quote the Authorization number when filing Bills of Entry. The system also facilitates the monitoring of export obligations and amendments under DFIA. Manual procedures will continue for authorizations issued before the implementation date.
