of <h1>Customs Circular: Electronic Filing Mandatory for Transshipped Cargo Entry; Manual Filings Banned from June 20, 2014.</h1> The circular from the Office of the Commissioner of Customs in Cochin addresses the filing of Bills of Entry for transshipped consignments. It highlights the implementation of a new module for transshipment of FCL cargo via road, rail, or sea, allowing electronic filing of the Bill of Entry at the destination port. However, manual filings persist due to improper declaration of destination ports in the IGM at gateway ports. From June 20, 2014, manual filings will be prohibited unless electronic filing is unfeasible. Shipping Lines/Agents must ensure destination ports are declared in the IGM to facilitate electronic processing and avoid delays.
