New Customs Procedure: Exporters Can Now Use Any Core Banking Account for Drawback Claims Nationwide.
The circular issued by the Customs Commissioner outlines a new procedure for processing drawback claims for exporters. Previously, exporters were required to have a bank account at the authorized bank branch at the port of export. With advancements in banking technology, exporters can now receive drawback payments in any core banking enabled account across the country, using RTGS and NEFT facilities. Exporters must declare their bank details, including the IFS code, and have the bank account declaration form certified by their bank. This procedure, effective from July 15, 2008, eliminates the need for exporters to open accounts at specific branches.
