India Extends Deadline to Use Re-credited 4% CVD in DEPB/Reward Scrips Until June 30, 2012, Per Notice No. 95/2012.
The Government of India's Ministry of Finance has extended the deadline for using re-credited 4% CVD (Special Additional Duty) amounts in DEPB/Reward Scheme scrips to 30th June 2012, following requests from trade and industry sectors. This extension, detailed in Public Notice No. 95/2012, allows manual filing of the Bill of Entry for utilizing these amounts. Importers are advised to initially pay the 4% CVD in cash to ensure a refund, as re-crediting will not occur if payment is made via scrips. The refund should be used for payment of BCD and CVD only, not for 4% CVD (SAD).
