Exemption of sugar cess on exported sugar removes excise levy under the Sugar Cess Act, effective immediately. The Central Government, exercising powers under sub section (4) of Section 3 of the Sugar Cess Act, 1982, exempts the duty of excise leviable under sub section (1) of Section 3 on sugar exported out of India, with immediate effect, by administrative notification.
