of <h1>India Extends Deadline for Utilizing Re-credited 4% SAD in DEPB Schemes to September 30, 2013; Importers Advised on Refunds.</h1> The Government of India has extended the deadline for utilizing re-credited 4% Special Additional Duty (SAD) amounts in Duty Entitlement Passbook (DEPB) schemes until September 30, 2013. This extension follows previous guidelines and aims to facilitate the refund process for importers. Importers are advised to make the initial 4% SAD payment in cash to qualify for refunds, as re-crediting will not be permitted if payments are made using scrips. Freely transferable duty credit scrips will be considered re-validated for this purpose, with no additional endorsements required.
