DGFT Ends Physical Printing of Advance and EPCG Authorizations for EDI Ports; Switches to Electronic Transmission.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has decided to discontinue the printing of Advance Authorizations and Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) Authorizations on security paper for electronic data interchange (EDI) ports. Effective from March 1, 2019, these authorizations will be transmitted electronically to the Customs server, visible to officers in the import/export cycle. Physical copies will no longer be required, and no TRA facility will be available for electronically issued authorizations at EDI ports. The process for registration and bond/bank guarantee remains unchanged, and amendments will be updated electronically. Existing verification mechanisms for export obligations remain unaffected.
