Exporters and customs brokers must now upload digitally signed documents via ICEGATE when filing Shipping Bills, eliminating the need for hard copies. The process involves entering electronic declarations, generating Shipping Bill numbers through the Indian Customs Electronic Data Interchange System, and retaining assessed documents for five years. Authorized persons can request authenticated copies of Shipping Bills. Non-compliance with these regulations may result in penalties up to fifty thousand rupees. Trade associations are urged to disseminate this information.
