Customs Ends Manual Debits for Advance Authorizations at EDI Ports; Switches to Electronic System for Efficiency.
The Customs authority has announced the discontinuation of manual debits on physical copies of Advance Authorizations at EDI Customs ports to streamline processes for exporters. Future authorizations will be electronically registered, and Customs officers will ensure proper debit entries in the EDI system. If an Advance Authorization holder seeks domestic sourcing, they must request an Advice Letter from the Group DC/AC, which will be processed promptly. In case of EDI system failures, manual clearances may occur with safeguards. This change does not impact the Telegraphic Release Advice facility at non-EDI ports. Exporters, importers, and trade members are urged to comply with these updates.
