Customs Simplifies Compliance: ACP and AEO Merge into Three-Tier AEO Program, Boosting Benefits and Support for SMEs.
The Central Board of Excise & Customs has revised guidelines by merging the Accredited Client Programme (ACP) and Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) programme into a unified three-tier AEO programme. This new structure aims to enhance benefits for compliant entities, including direct port delivery and entry, deferred payment of duties, and faster processing of refunds and adjudications. It also emphasizes support for small and medium enterprises, mutual recognition agreements, and paperless declarations. Existing AEO and ACP participants are transitioned to new AEO statuses with provisional arrangements and must submit applications within 90 days to maintain benefits. Difficulties should be reported to the Principal Commissioner.
