of <h1>Mandatory UQC Declaration in Bills of Entry Effective Feb 18, 2019, per ICES Advisory No. 01/2019. Non-compliance Prevents Submission.</h1> Importers, customs brokers, and stakeholders are informed of the mandatory declaration of the standard Unit Quantity Code (UQC) in bills of entry, as per ICES Advisory No. 01/2019. Effective February 18, 2019, the standard UQC must be declared in addition to the commercial UQC for all items in the Single Window table, using the Info_Type CHR and Info_QFR SQC. This requirement aims to improve data quality and facilitate quantity-based validations. Non-compliance will prevent submission of bills of entry. Issues should be reported to the Deputy/Assistant Commissioner of Customs via email. This notice serves as a standing order for customs officers and staff.
