DGFT Ends Printing of Advance and EPCG Authorisations for EDI Ports; Goes Fully Electronic from March 2019.
The notice announces the discontinuation of printing Advance Authorisations and Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) Authorisations on security paper by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) ports. Effective from March 1, 2019, these authorisations will be transmitted electronically to the Customs server, visible to all relevant officers. The process for registration and bond/bank guarantee remains unchanged, but no physical copies are required. Amendments will also be transmitted electronically. The notice specifies that electronically issued authorisations are valid only at EDI ports, and the Trade Receivable Discounting System (TRA) facility is not available for these. The Export Obligation Monitoring Cell will oversee export obligation fulfillment.
