of <h1>Customs Zones Jurisdiction Amended: Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, Cochin, Vijayawada to Oversee Tamilnadu, Puducherry Tasks from Jan 15, 2018.</h1> The Central Board of Excise & Customs has issued Notification No. 03/2018-Customs (N.T.) dated 10.01.2018, amending the jurisdiction of various Customs Zones. Effective from 15.01.2018, Customs-related tasks such as brand rate fixation and duty-free import at concessional rates for taxpayers in Tamilnadu and Puducherry will be managed by designated Customs formations. The Commissioners of Customs in Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, Cochin, and Vijayawada will oversee these tasks. GST, Central Excise, and Service Tax matters remain under current formations. The Trade Notice aims to inform stakeholders of these changes and invites feedback on the new structure.
