of <h1>India amends Rule 5A of Service Tax Rules, 1994, updating audit procedures for Service Tax assessees.</h1> The Government of India has amended Rule 5A of the Service Tax Rules, 1994, concerning the audit of Service Tax assessee accounts. This amendment was issued through Notification No. 23/2014 by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Excise & Customs, dated December 5, 2014. The notice, identified as Service Tax Trade Notice No. 21/2014, was released by the Office of the Commissioner of Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax in Belgaum on December 8, 2014. The amendment details are available on the official websites of CBEC and Service Tax.
