This margin requirement was a temporary measure and has now been withdrawn. Custodians of securities are instructed to inform their FII clients of this update. The relevant circular, SMDRP/Policy/Cir-12/2002 dated May 17, 2002, is enclosed for reference and is also accessible on the SEBI website under the 'Foreign Institutional Investors' section.
