of <h1>Duplicate Bill of Entry Now Valid for Modvat Credit in Delhi EDI System u/r 57H(4.</h1> The circular addresses the issue of availing Modvat credit using the Bill of Entry in the context of the EDI system implemented in the Delhi Commissionarate. Under the EDI system, only three copies of the Bill of Entry are generated: original, duplicate, and exchange control copy, omitting the triplicate copy traditionally used for Modvat credit. To resolve this, the Board, exercising its authority under Rule 57H (4) of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, designates the duplicate copy as valid for credit purposes. Pending cases should be resolved accordingly, and relevant trade and field formations must be informed.
