of <h1>Central Excise Jurisdiction Redefined in Northeast India; New Commissionerates in Shillong, Dibrugarh, Guwahati Effective October 15, 2014.</h1> The jurisdiction of the Chief Commissioner, Central Excise, Shillong Zone has been redefined following cadre restructuring. The jurisdiction includes various districts across the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Specific Commissionerates for Central Excise and Service Tax have been designated in Shillong, Dibrugarh, and Guwahati, with combined jurisdictions for appeals and audits. The Customs jurisdiction covers the entire northeastern region. Detailed jurisdictional divisions are provided in annexures, and the changes take effect from October 15, 2014. Separate notices have been issued for the new Audit Commissionerate.
