of <h1>EOUs Must Pay Duty on Waste Exceeding 25% of Production Norms per Central Excises & Salt Act, Section 3.</h1> The circular addresses the disposal of waste and scrap generated by 100% Export Oriented Undertakings (EOUs) during production. It mandates that the disposal percentage should align with the norms specified in Annexure-V to Appendix-19 of the Import-Export Policy, 1985-88, with a maximum limit of 25%. If the waste or scrap exceeds this limit, the EOUs are required to pay a duty equivalent to the duty on the original material from which the scrap or waste was derived, as per Section 3 of the Central Excises & Salt Act, 1944.
