Petroleum Duty-Free Removal Ends; Export Warehousing Still Allowed Nationwide; Registration Simplified for Exporters.
The circular addresses the withdrawal of the facility allowing the removal of petroleum products without duty payment from production facilities to warehouses, effective September 6, 2004. However, the facility for export warehousing of petroleum products remains available. The circular extends this facility to all exporters, permitting the establishment and registration of export warehouses for petroleum products anywhere in India. Existing warehouses can be converted to export warehouses, and jurisdictional commissioners are tasked with facilitating the registration and establishment of new export warehouses. The trade and relevant field formations are to be informed accordingly.
