<h1>Pune Customs Mandates Standard Unit Quantity Code in EDI Declarations from Feb 18, 2019 for Enhanced Data Quality.</h1> The Commissioner of Customs in Pune has issued a public notice mandating the use of Standard Unit Quantity Code (SQC) in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) declarations, effective from February 18, 2019. This requirement aims to enhance data quality and standardization for valuation and quantity-based validations. Importers and Custom House Agents must declare the SQC in the Single Window Table of the Bill of Entry, alongside the commercial Unit Quantity Code (UQC). Failure to include these details will prevent the submission of Bills of Entry. Relevant message and declaration formats are available on the ICEGATE website.
