of <h1>Duty-Free Clearance for EOUs: Post Imports Not Exempt Under Notification No. 13/81; Ad-Hoc Exemptions Possible for Genuine Cases.</h1> The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Excise & Customs, addresses the issue of duty-free clearance of post parcels for 100% Export Oriented Units (EOUs). The Ministry of Law has advised that goods imported by post are not eligible for exemption under Notification No. 13/81-Customs. However, the Ministry is open to considering specific cases for ad-hoc exemption if there are genuine difficulties in importing goods by sea or air. Interested EOUs must submit advance requests detailing the item, quantity, and value to the Ministry of Finance for consideration.
