        <h1>Online MEIS Applications for SEZ Shipping Bills Begin April 8, Streamlining Export Processes in India.</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has announced the activation of online filing, processing, and system-based approval of MEIS applications for SEZ shipping bills starting April 8, 2019. This initiative aligns with the Government of India's 'Ease of doing business' policy and mirrors the existing process for non-SEZ ports. Exporters can electronically attach SEZ shipping bills to their online applications and link them with e-BRCs for eligible HS Codes. The system will automatically approve MEIS applications, and SEZ Regional Authorities must dispatch or hand them over within one working day. Any implementation difficulties should be reported to the Directorate.
