State Warehousing Corporations Can Now Operate Public Bonded Warehouses with CWC Approval Under Customs Act Section 57.
The policy regarding public bonded customs warehouses has been revised. State Warehousing Corporations (SWCs) may now operate public bonded warehouses in locations where the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) does not have facilities, contingent upon obtaining a no objection certificate from the CWC. These warehouses, appointed under Section 57 of the Customs Act, should be located in industrial areas where there is a justified need. The previous instructions from July 7, 1980, are modified accordingly. A monthly report detailing the appointed public bonded warehouses for both CWC and SWCs must be submitted to the Board.
