Exporters Must Respond to Unanswered Queries by Oct 31 to Avoid Zero Drawback Rate; Genuine Claims Have 6-Month Extension.
Special measures are being implemented to address the backlog of drawback claims pending due to unanswered queries in the Exporters' queue. These claims are not technically pending with the customs department but require responses from exporters. Queries are processed online via the EDI System, and exporters must obtain printouts and respond through the service center. Despite previous notices, improvements have been minimal. Exporters are requested to submit replies by October 31, 2017, or face processing at a zero drawback rate. Genuine cases may apply for supplementary claims within six months, subject to conditions. Difficulties should be reported to the relevant authorities.
