of <h1>Electronic Container Sealing Voluntary Until March 1, 2018; Mandatory for Certain Exporters Thereafter.</h1> The circular addresses the implementation of electronic sealing for containers by exporters under a self-sealing procedure, initially outlined in several prior circulars. Due to insufficient stock of e-seals from vendors, the procedure is voluntary until March 1, 2018, after which it becomes mandatory for certain exporters, including those with self-sealing facilities and AEO exporters, exporting through the Custom House, Tuticorin. For St. John ICD, e-sealing will be mandatory from April 1, 2018. The validity of a previous notice regarding EDI registration is extended until April 1, 2018. Exporters are encouraged to report any difficulties to the office.
