NRIs have until June 30, 2017, to deposit these notes, while residents of India have until March 31, 2017. The notice specifies that returning individuals can bring up to Rs. 25,000 in such notes, except those from Nepal and Bhutan. A declaration form must be completed upon arrival, verified by Customs, and is necessary for depositing SBNs at designated Reserve Bank of India offices.
