New Guidelines for EOUs and EPZs: Sell Up to 25% in Domestic Market with Conditions and Approvals.
The circular outlines guidelines for Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and units in Export Processing Zones (EPZs) regarding the sale of goods in the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA). EOUs and EPZs can sell up to 25% or 15% of their production value in the DTA, subject to applicable duties and conditions. Sales must be approved for manufacture and export, and applications should be submitted within a year of entitlement. Quality control certificates may be required, and sales are contingent on achieving specified value addition. The notice also addresses sales of rejects and by-products, requiring prior permissions where necessary. These guidelines replace previous circulars and are issued in public interest.
