of <h1>Government Approves Bonded Warehouses in EPZs for Duty-Free Raw Materials to EOUs, Subject to Strict Licensing and Bonds.</h1> The government has authorized the establishment of bonded warehouses within Export Processing Zones (EPZs) to facilitate the stock and sale of duty-free raw materials and components to 100% Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and EPZ units. Initially, one warehouse per EPZ will be permitted, with applicants selected after careful scrutiny. Imports for these warehouses require specific licenses, and goods can be supplied to units within or outside the zones but not to domestic tariff areas. The warehousing period for goods is one year, as per a recent notification. Movement of goods will follow bond transfer procedures with necessary bonds and guarantees.
