India Allows Leather and Silk Garment Exporters to Use Airline Hanger Facilities; Apply to Customs for Approval.
The Government of India has announced a provision allowing exporters of leather and silk garments to use hanger facilities in airline containers. Exporters must apply in writing to the Assistant Collector of Customs (Export) at the Air Cargo Unit in New Delhi and notify the concerned airline. Once permission is granted, airlines will send containers to exporters' premises for hanger installation before returning them to the Air Cargo Complex for export. Customs procedures will proceed as usual, and container movements will comply with Notification No. 104/94-Cus., allowing duty-free import of durable containers temporarily.
