of <h1>Finance Ministry Clarifies Duty-Free Import of Trawler Spare Parts for 100% Export Oriented Units Under EOU Scheme.</h1> The circular from the Ministry of Finance's Department of Revenue addresses the import of deep sea fishing trawlers by 100% Export Oriented Units (EOUs) under the 100% EOU Scheme. It refers to the exemption from import duty for spare parts of production machinery, as per Notification No. 86/84-Cus. dated March 19, 1984. Since trawlers are considered production machinery, their spare parts are also exempt from duty. The circular advises regularizing the assessment of these spare parts, which were provisionally cleared after the specified date, and finalizing their assessments accordingly.
