of <h1>Ministry of Finance Extends Edible Oil Export Deadline for Up to 5 kg Packs to September 30, 2009.</h1> The circular from the Ministry of Finance addresses the export of edible oil in branded consumer packs of up to 5 kg. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) had set a quota of 10,000 metric tons for such exports until October 31, 2009. As of May 14, 2009, only 5,036 metric tons had been exported. Consequently, the DGFT has extended the deadline for customs to allow these exports until September 30, 2009. Customs officials are instructed to take necessary actions in accordance with this decision.
