<h1>SEBI Raises FII Investment Limits in Government Securities and T-Bills to $2.6 Billion, Corporate Debt Limit Unchanged.</h1> The circular from SEBI, dated January 19, 2007, addresses Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) and Custodians of Securities regarding investment limits in debt securities. SEBI has increased the cumulative investment limits for FIIs in government securities and T-Bills from $2 billion to $2.6 billion, with an additional $0.6 billion added to the existing headroom. The revised limits allocate $2 billion for 100% debt FIIs and $0.6 billion for 70:30 FIIs/Sub Accounts in government securities/T-Bills. The total permissible limit for corporate debt remains unchanged at $1.5 billion. Custodians are advised to inform their FII clients of these changes.
