of <h1>India Allows Shift-to-Shift Leasing in IT/ITES SEZs, Permits Disaster Recovery Centers for Foreign Companies.</h1> The Government of India has clarified that developers in IT/ITES Special Economic Zones (SEZs) can lease space on a shift-to-shift basis. Each unit must have designated space for storing goods, and developers will contract with each unit for specific shifts. Any goods procured by the unit must be stored in their allocated space. Additionally, Disaster Management/Recovery Centers for foreign companies can be established in IT/ITES SEZs, regardless of staffing, with payments for services rendered considered export receipts. These clarifications are to be implemented immediately, with relevant rule amendments to follow.
