SEBI Circular: No Entry Load for Direct Investments in Mutual Funds via AMCs Without Distributors Effective January 4, 2008.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has issued a circular stating that no entry load will be charged for direct applications submitted to Asset Management Companies (AMCs) without the involvement of distributors, agents, or brokers. This applies to investments in existing schemes from January 4, 2008, and new schemes launched thereafter. It also covers additional purchases and scheme switch-ins done directly by investors. AMCs are required to inform unitholders of any changes in load structure. This directive is issued under the authority of SEBI to safeguard investors and enhance the securities market.
