SEBI Mandates FIIs to Report Daily on Securities Lent Outside India, Including Short Sales and Synthetic Shorts.
The circular issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) addresses the requirement for Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) and their sub-accounts to report securities lent to entities outside the Indian Securities Market. This includes securities involved in short sales or synthetic shorts. FIIs must submit information daily via a specified email, using formats provided in Annexures A and B for cash securities and derivatives, respectively. The collected data will be consolidated and made available on the SEBI website. Custodians are instructed to inform their FII clients of these requirements.
