of <h1>Enhanced Depreciation on Commercial Vehicles Extended: Qualify for 50% Rate if Used by Oct 1, 2009.</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes has extended the benefit of enhanced depreciation on commercial vehicles until 30th September 2009. This extension applies to vehicles acquired on or after 1st January 2009 and put to use before 1st October 2009, allowing them to qualify for a 50 percent depreciation rate. The notification dated 21st April 2009 amends the previous deadline from 1st April 2009 to 1st October 2009. This adjustment follows an earlier notification issued on 19th January 2009, which initially set the deadline for 1st April 2009.
