<h1>SEBI Expands ASBA Facility to Include Qualified Institutional Buyers for Public Issues Starting May 1, 2010.</h1> The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has extended the Applications Supported by Blocked Amount (ASBA) facility to Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) for public issues opening on or after May 1, 2010. Previously, this facility was available to all investors except QIBs. Stock Exchanges, Merchant Bankers, Registrars to an Issue, and Self Certified Syndicate Banks are instructed to make necessary arrangements to accept ASBA forms from QIBs. This directive is issued under the authority of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, and is accessible on the SEBI website.
