SEBI Requires Mutual Funds to Disclose Investor Complaints for Transparency and Protection; Reports Due Annually by June 30.
The circular issued by SEBI mandates that all mutual funds, asset management companies, and the Association of Mutual Funds of India disclose details of investor complaints on their websites, the AMFI website, and in their annual reports. This initiative aims to enhance transparency in the grievance redressal mechanism, thereby improving investor protection and market functioning. The disclosure format is provided in an annexure, and mutual funds are required to upload reports for the year 2009-10 by June 30, 2010, and for subsequent years within two months of the financial year's end. This directive is under SEBI's authority to protect investor interests.
