of <h1>DGFT Amends Handbook: New Bank Guarantee Rule for DEPB Applications, Adds Procedures for Non-Compliance Penalties.</h1> The public notice issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) details amendments to the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. I) (RE-2008) under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09. A new paragraph, 2.20A, has been added, requiring applicants for DEPB and freely transferable incentive schemes to execute a Bank Guarantee (BG) or Legal Undertaking (LUT) if applying without a Bank Realisation Certificate. Two new appendices, 25C and 25D, outline the formats for BG and LUT. Amendments also address the submission and monitoring of BRCs, with penalties for non-compliance, including interest on unpaid amounts.
