It clarifies that exporters have the flexibility to import alternative inputs listed in the SION, even if those inputs were not specifically used in the manufacture of the exported product. This decision aims to facilitate duty-free import of inputs that are used or capable of being used in export products. The circular has been approved by the DGFT and is directed to all regional authorities and customs commissioners.
