<h1>Import of Shredded Metallic Scrap Allowed at All Indian Ports; Inspection Certificate Required; Special Rules for Yemen and Iran.</h1> The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended the Handbook of Procedures, Vol. I, under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009. The amendment specifies that the import of metallic waste and scrap in shredded form is permitted through all Indian ports, subject to conditions. Importers must provide a pre-shipment inspection certificate and a contract confirming the absence of radioactive contamination. Imports from Hodaideh, Yemen, and Bandar Abbas, Iran, must be in shredded form only. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
