<h1>SEBI Clarifies Commodities Regulation Post-Repeal of Forward Contracts Act; Exchanges Must Update Rules and Notify Members.</h1> The circular issued by SEBI on September 28, 2016, addresses the notification of commodities under the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956 (SCRA) following the repeal of the Forward Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1952. The Central Government, in consultation with SEBI, has specified certain goods under clause (bc) of section 2 of the SCRA. Commodity derivatives contracts will continue under the SCRA provisions. Exchanges are instructed to amend relevant rules, inform members, and update their websites.
