SEBI Issues Guidelines for Mutual Fund Scheme Performance Disclosure Post-Merger; Effective May 1, 2018.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued guidelines for disclosing the performance of mutual fund schemes post-merger. When two schemes merge and retain similar features, their weighted average performance should be disclosed. If the transferee scheme retains its features, its performance is to be disclosed. If the transferor scheme's features are retained, its performance should be disclosed. In cases where a new scheme emerges post-merger, past performance disclosure is not required. Past performance of non-retained schemes may be available on request with a disclaimer. These guidelines are effective from May 1, 2018.
