SEBI Clarifies Norms for Commodity Derivatives Segments in Recognised Stock Exchanges, Effective October 1, 2018.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued a circular clarifying the applicability of existing norms for Commodity Derivatives Exchanges to the Commodity Derivatives Segments of Recognised Stock Exchanges and Clearing Corporations. This follows amendments to the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Regulations, 2012, which eliminate the separate category of 'Commodity Derivatives Exchanges' effective October 1, 2018. The circular, effective from the same date, is issued under the SEBI Act, 1992, to safeguard investor interests and regulate the securities market. The circular can be accessed on the SEBI website under the 'Circulars' section.
