Airlines Must Send Departure Manifests to Indian Customs Electronically; Changes Effective May 15, 2017, per Notification 107/2016.
The circular outlines the implementation of Notification No. 107/2016-Customs, requiring airlines to electronically transmit departure manifests to Indian Customs. Effective from May 15, 2017, carriers must submit outbound passenger manifests fifteen minutes before departure in a specified format. Additionally, airlines are to modify their systems to send pre-check-in manifests twelve hours before departure by November 2017. Principal Commissioners of Customs at international airports are instructed to issue public notices to inform carriers of these requirements. Any difficulties in implementing the guidelines should be reported to the Board.
